Chick-Fil-A, I love you. Always my choice if I have to (or want to) eat fast food. Your chicken nuggets are yummy, your fries are crispy and tasty. You offer diet lemonade, which makes me happy. Amelia is always excited about her 4-piece nuggets kids' meal with fruit and juice. You give us a child-friendly, easy place to grab a mommy & daughter lunch once in a while. You even have employees who bring the food to my table because you understand rambunctious toddlers. And sometimes you have an indoor playground. Awesome.
But my dear Chick-Fil-A, I have to say, I am not happy with you this week. I am not happy with you for putting those Veggie Tales CDs in the kids' meals. We now have two of them. These CDs introduced me to the talking and singing vegetables for the first time recently. Amelia loves them. Asks for them in the car. But oh my goodness... these vegetables CAN NOT SING! The song lyrics are not bad, but the mouse-like, squeaky high octave vegetable signers really hurt my brain. And now I can't turn off the pain, because my demanding little princess in the back seat requires this music at least once per day.
Someone told me that the kids' meal prizes can be turned back in for ice cream. I believe I will let Amelia in on this secret next time. I'll accept sticky hands and messy clothes any day if it means I don't have to listen to Veggie Tales in my car. Ever. Again.

We have one of these in the car for Ellie - it has a speaker, and she listens to her own music in the car. She's always been really good at leaving it fairly quiet, most of the time I can't even hear it. It took a few months (year?) until she could operate the functions, which was fine. Absolute BEST thing I've ever bought. The first day she got it, around 20 mos old, she listened to it for 3 hours on a long drive without a peep. Amazing. I bought a second one for Mandy, but she's not old enough for it yet - she throws it. They used to have it at Toys R Us, now I'm not so sure.

In similar news, I heard this morning that San Jose, CA was banning toys in kids meals.
Ahhh, something that I can't hear would be nice for sure!!! We have a vacation coming up that will involve a good bit of driving, so we're investigating DVD/CD options for the car. Thanks!
